The department is established in year 1984. History is in studies of Arts faculty on undergraduate as well as specialization in postgraduate level.

Ancient and Medieval Indian, Art and Architecture are the topics of research. Smt. J.V. Deshmukh and Shri. A.D. Shinde are recognized P.G. Teachers. The department has applied for grant in aid under the scheme of "Promotion and strengthening of regional & local museums.
