About Library

Recent developments in humanities, social sciences and allied sciences have generated new pressures in academic fields. This resulted in extending the responsibility of the libraries. These serve the needs of students, teachers, administrators and researchers in the field of education and research. In this view, the library of Dnyanopasak Shikshan Mandal’s College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Parbhani is a necessary adjunct of the teachers’ aid and researchers’ tool without which they cannot make the optimum use of their time or talent in effective and efficient manner. Library being an integral part of college, it is being developed on effective lines. It is a well-equipped library run by an efficient organization. In fact it is the soul of our educational institution. Therefore, the application of Information Technology, the nature and functioning of in-house keeping operations of the library have been totally transformed. Considering the role of library, Dnyanopasak college has been trying and planning to provide various services and facilities to the students and the academic staff of the college to enrich the academic ambience.

This library is a well managed and systematically organized model of information storage. Therefore, time to time, the efforts are being made to convert this library into the information – oriented unit so that the maximum number of students, research scholars and academic community would be able to take the advantage of the rich collection of books, back volumes of periodicals, CD-ROM databases, On-Line databases and Journals etc. Besides College authorities are also taking keen interest in the development of the library by providing adequate funds, infrastructure and other academic facilities.

The library information system of the college is partially automated, bar-coded and digitized. The full texts available online are in digital format and can be accessed from the website http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in and http://delnet.nic.in within the campus and this facility is accessible for the faculties anywhere in the Universe. At present, library has 53902 books and 153 Journals and periodicals. The number of books is constantly and continuously increasing. Thus, the efforts are being made to enrich the library in terms of intellectual prosperity.

  • Lending Section
    The Library provides the facility of issuing and returning of books for reading at home and for reference in the reading room.

  • Reading Room Section
    The Library has provided reading facility in reading room.  Periodicals, Journals and Newspapers.

  • Reference Section
    The Library is having rich reference collection, which includes Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, Maps, Directories, Gazetteers & Yearbooks etc.

  • Reprography Section
    Users of the library are always in need of Xerox copies of articles published in peer reviewed journals and other published materials from books, reports etc. To provide them efficient and effective service photocopying facility is made available.

  • E-Library
    E-Library refers to all the library resources that are available online through computers and databases.

Library Rules

1.   Every student must have an Identity Card. Books and periodicals will be issued to the students with the Identity Card.

2.   In the College campus, every student should possess his/her Identity Card and on demand it should be produced.

3.   Books & Periodicals will be issued to the regular students only.

4.   The students should check the book at the counter before it is issued. If a book is damaged or the paper is missing and torn; it should be brought to the notice of the library staff.

5.   If the book is lost, damaged, torn by the students he/she will have to replace a new copy of the latest edition or pay the double price of the same book.

6.   Degree and P.G. students will be issued two books at a time twice in a week.

7.   Issue section will be kept open during the deepawali vacation.

8.   Misbehavior will be a sufficient reason for suspending the Library facilities.

9.   In case of any grievances  the students are allowed to contact the Librarian.

10.   Books issued on borrower’s card can be retained only for seven days.

11.   The date of book will be extended for next seven days only when there is no demand for the same book.

12.   The book must be physically available while extending the date.

13.   The students should personally see that the books returned by him/her   are being cancelled on the concerned records otherwise no complaints about the return of the book will be entertained.

14.   Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Hand Books, Project Reports will not be issued outside the Library premises.

15.   Reference books &other reference material will be provided to the student on providing the Identity Card within the library only.

16.   If the reference book is taken outside the library by the students without prior permission of the librarian, a legal action will be taken.
