The college was well
adopted to the changes and new trends. After the
establishment the management decided to start the course
in Microbiology. Department of Microbiology came in
existence in the year 1986. Now the department is
running a two year PG course and the subject is also
available as option for the undergraduate studies. The
department has students from other states, pursing
postgraduate study.
The department has
liaison with four different Universities, Namely (i)
Marathwada Agriculture University, Parbhani (ii) North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and (iii) Gujarat
University, Ahmedabad and (iv) Govt. Institute of
Science affiliated to Dr. B.A. M. University, Aurangabad
for research and consultancy. Two of the staff members
have been awarded with the Ph.D. degree, one staff
members had already submitted his thesis leading to
Ph.D. degree. Also, for updating the knowledge in the
subject, teachers, are join the orientation and
refresher courses conducted by UGC.
University has also
identified the department as Research Center. |

control.
One of the activities
conducted by this Department includes project work,
every teacher is allotted with six number of
postgraduate students for project related with regional
problems.
This is one of the
earlier departments in the region offering Graduate and
first postgraduate course in the subject since 1986 and
1991 respectively. As a result of this the rural
students of this backward region get a chance for
training of advance disciplines like Microbiology and
Biotechnology. In fact many students trained from this
department are working in academic, research and
industrial area worldwide. Recently department has also
been recognized as Research Center by the University
which opens new avenues for the students and teachers of
this region to conduct quality research for benefit of
the society.
Shri. P.S. Wakte has
submitted his thesis for award of Ph.D. to Swami
