Administration is as old as human society. Public administration came into with being the creation of the state, when individuals surrendered their sovereignty to it, so that it could be managed in a manner that facilitated the protection of the life and property of individuals.

Introduction :

         Department of Public Administration has been introduced in 1984; where as P.G. in Public Administration has been introduced in 2004 respectively. The salient features of the department are as under:

            The department was running a solitary undergraduate course till 2004 when in 2004 Postgraduate course in Public Administration was introduced on permanent self-finance basis.  The department run the course under the auspicious of earlier Marathwada University, viz. got renamed to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad in 1994. Subsequently, during the same stage the institute came under the governing of newly formed Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded.  At present the department has attained academic maturity of 39academic years.  The epoch of the department is 39 years and department has been received UGC grants since 1990.

Strong points of the department :

           The main strength of the department is that it has highly qualified and experienced faculty members, who take efforts in upgrading the knowledge of the branch to guide the students.  Apart from the regular teaching hours and it maintains discipline in the department.   It also leads to all pervasive of the students. The department of Public Administration from its inception has been keen in terms of organizing study tours to inculcate various outstanding facets of public administration for the students of P.G. in every semester.  The students have been widely exposed to the different village Pnachayats, Zilla Parishad.
