About Library

          Library of Dnyanopasak Shikshan Mandal's College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Parbhani was established in the year 1984. Since then, recent developments in the humanities, social sciences and applied sciences have generated new pressures in academic fields. This resulted in extending the responsibility of the libraries. These serve the needs of students, teachers, administrators and researchers in the field of education and research. In this view, the library is a necessary adjunct of the teachers aid and researchers tool without which they cannot make the optimum use of their time and talent in effective and efficient manner. The library has tried its level best to provide necessary material to all the components of the college and looked after the quantative & qualitative growth in library facilities. The college library is connected to other college libraries under the Inter Library Loan facilities , E-Library facilities with INFLIBNET N-List and DELNET Consortia. The library is fully automated with bar-coding of books, circulation and library membership smart cards. The library has purchased SOUL 2.0 Library Software developed by UGC- INFLIBNET Center, Ahmadabad. The  library is a well managed and systematically organized model of information storage. Therefore, time to time, the efforts are being made to convert this library into the information oriented unit so that the maximum number of students, research scholars and academic community would be able to take the advantage of the rich collection of books, back volumes of periodicals, CD-Rom databases, online databases and e-journals. Besides, college authorizes are also taking keen interest in the developments of the library by providing adequate funds, infrastructure and other academic facilities. Today we have more than 65997 books, more than 150 journals,  periodicals and also e-journals 6000+ and e-books 135000+. This facility is provided through N-list. Thus the efforts are being made to enrich the library in terms of intellectual prosperity.

• Circulation Counter Timings : 10:30 am to 05:30 pm.
• Reading Room Timings : 07:30 am to 09:00 pm.
• Library is open on all working days except public & national holidays.
• During vacations, it is open from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm.

Circulation/Book Lending

Borrowing Limits

Students                         :- Two Books twice in a week for 07 days.

Faculty (UG/Jr.)             :- 25 Books for one year .

Faculty (PG)                  :- 10 Books for one year.

Non Teaching Staff        :- 05 Books for one year.

Research Students.                 :- 05 Books for one year.

Library Rules & Regulations

1. Every student must have an Identity Card. Books and periodicals will be issued to the students with the Identity Card.
2. In the College campus, every student should possess his/her Identity Card and on demand it should be produced.
3. Books & Periodicals will be issued to the regular students only.
4. The students should check the book at the counter before it is issued. If a book is damaged or the paper is missing and torn; it should be brought to the notice of the library staff.
5. If the book is lost, damaged, torn by the students he/she will have to replace a new copy of the latest edition or pay the double price of the same book.
6. Degree, P.G. & Junior students will be issued two books at a time twice in a week.
7. Issue section will be kept open during the Deepawali vacation.
8. Misbehavior will be a sufficient reason for suspending the Library facilities.
9. In case of any grievances the students are allowed to contact the Librarian.
10. Books issued to the students can be retained only for seven days.
11. The date of book will be extended for next seven days only when there is no demand for the same book.
12. The book must be physically available while extending the date.
13. The students should personally see that the books returned by him/her are being cancelled on the concerned records otherwise no complaints about the return of the book will be entertained.
14. Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Hand Books, Project Reports will not be issued outside the Library premises.
15. Reference books &other reference material will be provided to the student on providing the Identity Card within the library only.
16. If the reference book is taken outside the library by the students without prior permission of the librarian, a legal action will be taken.

3. a)    Union Catalogue of Books DELNET maintains an online union catalogue of books available in its member-libraries. This union catalogue is continuously updated and is growing in size. The information can be retrieved by author, title, subject, conference, series, etc. It has 2,28,45,202 bibliographic records. The request for inter-library loan can be placed through the online system.
4. b)   Union List of Current  Periodicals DELNET has created union lists of current periodicals in science and technology, social sciences and humanities. This database is available online to DELNET users. It now lists 37,847 periodicals and is regularly updated and new titles are added annually. It is a major resource for Document Delivery Services.
5. c)   Union  Catalogue  of Periodicals DELNET maintains a union catalogue of periodicals, which contains full holdings data of the libraries. At present, the database contains   20,235 records.
6. d)   Database  of Periodical Articles The database has details of articles which can be searched under the title, author, compiler, name of the periodical and subject. The database is being extensively utilised by the researchers and scholars. At present the database contains  9,22,042 records.
7. e)   CD-ROM  Database A bibliographic database of CD-ROMs available with the member-libraries is being compiled. It has 22,234 records.
8. f)    Union List of Video Recordings This is a database of video cassettes available in DELNET member-libraries and has about 6,000 listings.
9. g)   Union List of Sound Recordings This union list consists of audio cassette records available in member-libraries. This database has 1,025 records.
10. h)    Database of Theses and Dissertations A database of Theses and Dissertations submitted to Indian Universities has been started, which covers various subjects. The database has 81,074 records.
11. i)   Union List of Newspapers The database has 70 records and contains information about the newspapers including title, name of the editor, published from, E-mail address and also the Web address of the INTERNET edition if available on the WWW.
12. j)     Database of E-books It has nearly 1613 records.
13. k) Profile of Member-Libraries A directory of member-libraries is available and contains information about them.
