Introduction 

The  Department  of  English  was  established  on  16  June  1982.  P.G.  Course  was introduced on  29  July  1992. The  Department is  recognized  as  a  research  centre  to pursue research leading to Ph.D. degree from 09.09.2009.

The Centre for Studies in Language, Literature, Culture and Ideology is established in the department to run short term and long term certificate courses leading to the capacity building of the students at UG and PG.

Representation of the Department

1) The Department has well equipped language laboratory.

 2) Two teachers are engaged in guiding research.

 3) Atmaram Gangane delivers plenary lectures, keynote addresses and popular lectures in international conferences as well as refresher courses. He delivers talks in Foreign Countries also.

4) Atmaram Gangane addresses in  extension activities in other colleges and training centers.

5)  Atmaram Gangane is a research supervisor and referee in Dr BAM University, Gondwana University and SGB Amrawati University, Amrawati etc.

6) Atmaram Gangane is a Director,

 Centre for Studies in Language, Literature, Culture  and Ideology.

 7)  Atmaram Gangane is an IQAC Coordinator.

 8)  Bridge Course, Remedial course and COC are the basic academic activities in the Department.

 9) Atmaram Gangane is a RUSA Coordinator.

 10) Atmaram Gangane worked as Referee for students in foreign Universities, (Bristol University and University of Leeds, London).

Laboratory Facilities

The language libratory is available for teaching software based courses; at present COC is being run along with remedial and bridge, film studies etc. courses. Besides, lab is used to avail internet facility to have access to international journals.

Achievements

 Faculty participates in international conferences, extension activities and in refresher courses as a resource person. Faculty runs certificate courses for the students of UG and PG

Faculty conducts training programmes and literary programmes. The students are engaged in wall poster preparations.
